I want to tell you about last night, but first some pictures...
Here is William in his cute pumpkin shirt they made at school and posing with his painted pumpkins.
Today the kids got to wear their Halloween costumes for pumpkins patch day at school. You can see that William is still waking up in this picture and a little stunned by having his picture taken this early in the morning. By the end of the day he was hamming it up for everyone because of all the attention.
So, last night at around 4:00 a.m. William woke up (he has a stuffy nose and doesn't really care for not being able to breath) so Chad brought him to our bed. Chad then went to the restroom (random detail that becomes significant later) and returned to bed. William tossed and turned and couldn't seem to fall asleep. It didn't help that our dog 'Papa' had started going crazy in the living room. We finally gave into his incessant barking and Chad went to see what the fuss was about. Seconds later, Chad came racing back into the room and started throwing clothes on. He yelled that the water heater was spraying water as he ran out the front door to the main water line. So at 4:30 in the morning we were all awake and dealing with a room full of water. William thought it was great. He went to the fridge and announced he was hungry, got some cheese, asked for cartoons, and ran around the house laughing. He thought it was the greatest thing on earth that we had allowed him to get out of bed while it was still dark outside (a big 'no,no' in our house). We dealt with what we could and returned to bed. At 7:30 this morning I dragged myself out of bed to go to work. Chad called the plumber a little later. The plumberS came and spent a good FOUR HOURS at our house installing our brand new hot water heater and bringing us up to code. Can you imagine the bill we are going to get in the mail for having several plumbers at our house for that long? We are trying not to think about it. We are trying to focus on the fact that now we have one small part of our very old, very interesting (as the plumber called the previous work) house up to date.

Ohhhh, he looks so cute in his outfit, that hat is the greatest! That is really a nice shirt they made in class and the pumpkins look great.
Sorry to hear about your hot water heater, ours leaked too, yikes...not fun!
