screwdrivers

My mom stopped by for a visit today. She was visiting some old friends in San Antonio and ran up to see us for a few hours. While we were talking, William kept handing her toys. Most the toys didn't work due to dead batteries. I made the comment to my mom that I had bought the batteries, I was just too lazy to find a screwdriver to open all those battery packs (all kids toys have screws on their batteries to prevent them from eating the batteries or sticking them into their noses). We continued our conversation until we realized that William had left the room. We went into the kitchen and found him coming up the steps from our "random everything room" with an entire package of screwdrivers. How he knew where to find those is beyond me, not to mention the fact that our 19 month old caught that snippet of conversation and realized what he was going to have to do to get his toys in proper working order. Needless to say, we replaced several sets of batteries and my house is now a noisier place.

well Haley, I think he takes after you! When you were a toddler we would always ask you where something was (bandage, tape, etc.)and you would find it, we'd never ask Cyndy!

This is such a cute story. Kids are sooo smart. It amazes me how quick they can pick up on stuff. Kind of scary to think how much they learn from what we do.
