August 27th we celebrated William's Fourth Birthday with a pool party at Inn of the Hills here in Kerrville. Poor William's birthday will always be right before (or right when) school starts and when it is a bajillion degrees outside, but a pool party seems to work out well and his classmates enjoyed getting together a few days before class started.

Of course William wouldn't pick an easy theme that required one simple trip to the party store. He instead choose to have a "How to Train Your Dragon" party and I got to buy everything online. My mom and dad provided purple and blue cupcakes (William LOVES purple).
After the friends had left, we went to my aunt's hotel room to open family gifts. The cousins loved the loft.
Around nine o'clock we returned to our hotel room and crashed. Chad ran out to eat with some of the family, but Landry, William, and I were wiped out.
The next morning the kids enjoyed the hotel room.
We spent Saturday at the hotel buffet (literally we sat in there and talked for most of the morning), then we went to Kerrville Market Days followed by a trip to my grandparents for a delicious meal and some of my grandpa's 80th birthday cake!
William declared it the best birthday ever, so I think he had fun!
