Is it even possible that this amazing and precious gift has been with us for 8 whole months? The time has flown by, but at the same time, we don't remember what life was like without her. Landry is FULL of personality. She is so different from William and yet still such a great baby. I realize that I didn't have this blog when William was an infant, so here are some of the differences...
William = SLEEPER - he could sleep through anything and always slept through the night
Landry = LIGHT sleeper - everything wakes her up, the fact that we live in an old house with minimal insulation from outside sounds and wood floors that echo every foot step keeps her from taking a nap longer than 45min and I think is part of the reason she wakes up at least once a night.
William = only wanted people - he just wanted to hang out with people and see what we were doing, even as an infant he was aware of what every person in a room was doing.
Landry = Loves her toys, keys, boxes, paper, shoes, bulldozers, cars, birds, etc. She is a watcher.
William = LOVED Nursing - he wanted breast milk all the time and food was something he would eat, but didn't really care about. He wouldn't even switch to cow's milk. I eventually got him to take yogurt smoothies and then chocolate milk (per the doctor's suggestion). He still only drinks choc. milk.
Landry = Nurses for approximately five seconds before she is distracted or bored. She likes bottles because she can drink and look around at the same time. She LOVES food. She really only nurses right before a nap or bedtime and in the morning.
William = army crawled a little bit and then started walking right before he turned a year old. He always looked like he wanted to walk and really wasn't interested in crawling.
Landry = Started crawling this month. She already pulls up on things and tries to walk along the laundry basket or crib rail. She is never happy to sit still.
William = Didn't require baby-proofing. He wasn't in to cabinets, outlets, plugs, electronics and NOTHING ever went into his mouth.
Landry = IN TO EVERYTHING - She puts everything in her mouth, crawls straight for the dvr, dvd player, plugs, cords, outlets, etc. She ate popcorn from under the couch the other day - William just wouldn't have done that.
William = Pacifier Addict
Landry = Only uses pacifier when sleeping - she isn't really interested in it otherwise, it gets in the way of sucking on everything else.
William = Daddy's Boy - If daddy was around, he wanted him to hold him and play with him.
Landry = Mommy's Girl - She cries every time she sees me when anyone else is holding her. She clings to me constantly and would be happy if I kept her in a sling on my hip all day long.
William = Identical to Me as a baby and toddler. Only now are some of Chad's traits starting to show up in William.
Landry = Look nothing like her mommy, it shocks me how little she looks like me or William. She favors Chad (I think).
