Santa Came Early

Chad works alot these days. He leaves at dawn and returns at dusk and then the phone calls start. He has a work cell phone now and is "on call" every other week, but if this weekend is any indication, he gets phone calls whether he is on or off. For this reason and the fact that we will be out of town next weekend and traveling for Christmas, we called Santa and asked him to come to our house on Friday night. That way we would be able to have a day to play with the toys as a family without rushing to the next holiday event.
On Friday night William and Landry opened one special present. It was the Polar Express. We all sat down and watched it as a family. In the middle of the movie William proclaimed, "This is the best movie!"

On Saturday morning William woke us up to go to the living room and see what Santa had brought. He immediately chose the largest box to open.
(William likes to open presents & Landry doesn't care, that is why hers are out in the open and his are wrapped.)

After opening the first box (airplanes) William ran to his room to retrieve his tub of planes and sat down on the floor to play. We let him have a few minutes and then prodded him to continue opening gifts.
Landry liked having new toys to explore...
and chew.

After a few hours of playing with William's toys (one of which was as much for us as Willster, but he was gracious about sharing time - sorta)
we got ready to go to Holiday in the Park at Fiesta Texas.
I was pregnant on all of our trips to Fiesta Texas this year, so this was my first chance to ride rides. I got to ride the Wiggles Fruit Salad, Cars, Airplanes, and the baby rollercoaster!
Landry had fun too!
She enjoyed some zerbert blowing.
William and I hit Taz' Tornado...he was not sure about this ride.
As night fell it got really cold so we wrapped Landry in a blanket and stuck her in the carrier.
Did I mention that Chad was there too? Somehow he didn't end up in many pictures.
We had a great Christmas! Now that the presents are over we are able to focus on the real meaning for Christmas and our upcoming visits with family.
Merry Christmas!
P.S. I know that this blog can get a little scrapbooky, but that is what it is...I have every intention of printing this blog in book form. Thanks for hanging in there with us!

Don't apologize for it being "scrap-booky"! We love it. Thanks for letting us look at your live scrap book.
"Shivving September"!? That's hilarious.

William will really appreciate being able to see all his "quotes of the day" someday.

It was a Wii and we totally like it more than he does unless he is boxing, he likes punching people.
