'roid rage

Last Monday night William got really sick in the middle of the night. I took him to our Doctor the next morning and he informed me that William had the beginning of croup and that his throat was swelling (not shut, but small). He put William on a steroid to make the swelling go down and warned us that the next few nights might be worse and we needed to be prepared to go to the e.r. Well, it turns out that the nights have been a little rough, but not e.r. bad - probably because his throat is not swelling shut. Now to the point of the story...yesterday William was being a real stinker. We are talking hitting, punching, yelling, temper tantrums, etc. This is not normal William behavior. So after a day of us pulling our hair out, a couple of spankings and time outs (yes, we do both - depends on the situation), William's cough got really bad. I decided to call the pharmacy to see if we could give him cough medicine with steroids, but I couldn't get through. We then called a pharmacist that we are friends with. She told us what to give William and then informed us that we might see some aggressive behavior because of the steroids. So there it is - our poor child got a day full of punishment because of his uncontrollable 'roid rage. Who knew a two-year-old could get that?

quick, call the WWE - I hear they are looking for a headliner for their Saturday night wrestling show, he can go lay the smackdown with those other 'roid users - or he might become the future governor of California.
