Our Trip to Abilene Part 3

On the third and final day (saturday) of our trip to Abilene, we decided to go fishing on another piece of property that one of Chad's dad's realtors has listed. We tried a small pond first. I don't think it even had minnows in it. At that pond, William got to meet his first worm and he was not too sure about it.
We thought we might have better luck at a much larger pond. It was freezing and windy, but Steve and Chad figured William would love to go fishing on the canoe. This is when the comedy of errors began. Karen and I sat on the shore laughing and taking pictures the entire time.
1st William was not excited about wearing his life jacket over his shirt, overalls, and jacket.
2nd William does not have sea legs and therefore could not be left to fend for himself while on the canoe, thus Steve decided to sit in the middle of the canoe and hold him.
3rd They were blown straight into the bank while Chad attempted to put the little motor on.
4th William dropped an ore in the water - Steve retrieved it.
5th William dropped his fishing pole into the water - Steve retrieved it.
6th They finally took off and William had fun for about two minutes until he got tired of the wind in his face (all this time his nose is running and Steve is having to continually wipe it).
7th They are so weighted down in the back that they are taking on water.
8th They eventually get settled and meet Karen and I on the shore to hand off young Will. We went back and sat in the truck and ate oranges an crackers. Meanwhile the guys actually found a spot shielded from the wind and caught a few bass. Eventually we called an end to our fishing excursion and went out for lunch. The rest of the day was spent hanging out and not napping (Will) before we left in the evening for the drive back to Kerrville.
