Fall Fun

On Saturday we took the youth group to the "Hondo Corn Maize" in Hondo, Texas (30mi.west of San Antonio). We had a great time. The kettle corn and lemon shakers were worth every overpriced dollar. Here is my "What We Did On Our Trip To The Corn Maze" essay in photos.

We did the Corn (not actually made from corn) Maze.

We used the toddler questions so that William actually led us on our route (he got an amazing number of questions right and we helped him with the rest).

We rode the Barrel Train.

Yes, I am the only mom on this particular run, but lots of moms were going with their little ones and William is not exactly good at staying seated. I spent the entire ride thinking about how they fit bodies in these barrels on all those crime shows.

We ate kettle corn, sausage wraps, apple crispers, and lemon splashers.

We watched kids jump on the corn popper. This was also one of the few times William has experienced his parents not giving in on something he wanted to do. We felt like he was too small for it.

We watched the goats play in their ramp area.

"Pumpkin Patch" (actually a field with pumpkins sat out there for purchase - still cute).

We took pictures on the Cowch.

We saw evidence that bees are in fact still alive and well in Hondo. That was a relief (I am a little worried for our bees).

All in all, I think everyone had a wonderful time. All the kids - including William- were upset when we made them leave, so that is always a good sign.

William particularly enjoyed the drive home.
